    Housebreaking a new dog

I just adopted a dog who is a little over a year old. She is pretty much housebroken. The problem is that she has decided to use a room in our house that is currently being used for storage whenever given the opportunity. Personally, I think the solution to the problem should be to shut the door to that room, but I can't train the other humans in the house to do it. I would like her to be 100% reliable on her housetraining, but I'm at a loss on how to go about this because all the information I find is geared towards puppies. She already knows about going outside, but for some reason this one room is an exception.

Could you maybe babygate off that room?  Than the 'humans' could just hop over it???  Other than that, maybe try tying her to yourself or babygate her to the room that you are in so you can keep an eye on her until she is more reliable.  How long have you had her?  She is probably just getting used to the place.

I know how frustrating it can be.  Duke until recently was using our office as a bathroom.  It is so badly stained that when we give people a tour of our house we say "This is Dukes bathroom". ;People think its funny, but it is sooo gross!
