Good bye CM thread

You may not feel CM or his staunch supporters have much to offer you and your own dog, but I think you have a lot to offer other posters.  Especially newbies.  Your own views and opinions on CMs show and his methods are usually balanced and moderate, rather than being "all-for" or "all-against" - a better outlook IMO!  I think this forum needs more people like you!

Thank you for posting this sincerely moving and prolific goodbye on this message board for all to see.  Like a ship without a sail, I would have felt lost and completely alone in the cold sea without knowing the true reason for your sad departure.  Fare thee well my friend, fare thee well.....

Trevell why are nearly every single one of your contributions so heavily loaded with sarcasm?  If you don't like the thread or the poster why do you reply to it?

I can see where you are coming from - CM's ideas on energy and calm/assertive are good, but once you understand them, is there more to learn...?

Thanks everyone but I wasn't looking for responses. I didn't mean for it to be a dramatic goodbye –but I am a member of this community and wanted anyone who cared to know why I wasn't participating. 

Trevell, obviously you could care less and neither do I.  What I did omit in my thread so not to be rude, are some real facts and reasons why many don't participate here anymore, including myself.  Posts, responses and attitudes like yours are the primary reason the CM threads have gone into the toilet.  The CM threads have been reduced to you and two or three other members and its sad.  When ever anyone new tries to participate they are pummeled into defensive mode.  The threads have gone from hot, to don't bother. 

You were one of the first supporters of the CM section, gung hoe and found a home to discuss his methods.  Now you don't seem to care at all that no one is interested, so you must not care about it anymore yourself. It's become just a place for you a few other members to dominate, not discuss.  If you truly found that the CM threads have any value on this forum I would think you and the supporters of this section would want to keep it interesting instead of being sarcastic when a community member decides the threads aren't worth it.  I know if the clicker training treads went amuck Spiritdogs would do what she could to help keep interest and not allow it to disintegrate into what has happened here. 

Snownose and Angeline:   STAUNCH:  Steadfast, firm and dependable, especially loyalty and ally.  Why are you offended?  This is why no one wants to discuss anything with you guys, have fun the three of you discussing Cesar.

No need for anyone to respond to my thread, I will see the rest of you on ALL other threads of interest.

I think that you have simply progressed on your own path with your own dog.  Many of us have done the same thing.  We take what we need along the way, and we add, or delete, the information that is helpful to our own situation. 
As a trainer, I try to keep things in my toolbox, even if they "rust" from lack of use [] , but I still need to know about them!  But, for a dog owner who is simply interested in doing the best for their own dog, it is a more personal journey, and one which you have at least been honest about. I'm sure that some members who have enjoyed your honesty here would have missed you, and wanted to know why you chose to leave, and I have no problem with your having chosen to tell us.  I do hope that we will see you on other sections of the forum.  We need everyone's perspective, and yours has always been offered in an honest way.

In all sincerity, please, the intent of my response wasn't meant to hurt or offend anyone.  People take themselves way too seriously around here and I just thought I'd inject a little humor in my own way.  Sorry no one thought it was funny, but I'm sure if I gave that same response to our old friend Awesomedog upon his departure, certain people would be laughing along with me.  I'm sorry that I think it's a bit humorous that someone feels the need to announce their leaving of a message forum.  Not just you, but anyone.  If you don't like this section, just don't post here anymore.  What's the point of making a big thing about it?

I personally think having a whole CM section by itself is a joke.  It was actually started after I attempted to start a thread discussing the new, upcoming season of Dog Whisperer.  I honestly wanted to have a balanced discussion about his work with the dogs in each episode.  I was interested in hearing views and alternatives to what CM did from all sides.  This proved to be impossible because it immediately degenerated into the usual snide comments and arguing back and forth, resulting in the closing of that thread and the opening of this entire section.  The saddest thing is that it's even difficult to discuss CM and his show in his very own section without the usual down spiraling.

Obviously, the creation of this section has not stopped all of the emotional drama. I can understand and respect a sincere farwell, so we'll just have to see...
 
At least some folks are reading and respecting the rules before posting here, the mods are keeping an eye on the personal attacks, and one person who only wanted to argue, has already left.
 
But, this is nothing compared to what things were like before this section was created. Do a search of "Cesar Millan" and go back and read all of the threads which were started before this section was set-up.
