I HAVE A SERIUOS PROBLEM WITH MY 2 MONTH OLD PUPS!

My last post on this subject.

I think the issue and reason this thread is going out of control is this.

This is a new dog owner of two pure breed, young puppies who are siblings.  Without prudence epencer jumped to give some advise of his favored leading authority.  One who himself would not have made the same recommendation without suggesting the dog owner consult a professional first.

Issues with dogs are not all black and white, epencer choose not to evaluate the whole scenario before giving advice.

    Young puppies
    Siblings (it does matter)
The knowledge and abilities of the dog owner
    The breed
The breeds overall demeanor, breeding purpose and general personality
The magnitude of the issues.  This is not a dog that is pulling on lead; this is a behavior problem with early signs of aggression..

More respect to your opinion would be given if only you conducted yourself with a general overall concern for the situation.  Given the obvious a more safe and fool proof approach would be more prudent.  After all, is it really important that two dogs eat side by side?

PS:  I don't need to try it because I already have a method I use that works and I don't care if my dogs eat side by side.  However, BEVO's story proved to me that it doesn't work!!

I will now move on and get off this thread.

Thank you luvmyswissy. Sounds like the thread has now ended (one would hope) on your rational note.

    Have YOU done it:
    1.-Yes
    2.-No

If you answer yes then we can talk, if you answer is no then you simply dont know what you are talking about (sounds bad but is the truth) therefore you cant comment on the results AT ALL

And some people may not want to try your method because it doesn't mesh with their reasoning, in which case, you may not get many replies. You are setting a boundary by which people may or may not respond to you. Good luck with that.

That is a silly question, Espencer.

I am not going to get into defending how many books I've read, dogs I've trained and problems I have solved when you are the one advocating an approach that flies in the face of basic dog safety, what folks have known for hundreds of years about dogs and food, the accepted knowledge about littermates, and the difference between dobermans and other, less driven breeds of dog.

You have not succeeded just because you got the OP to listen to you in the short term! There are existing bodies of knowledge that you are totally ignoring, and another existing body of knowledge that you are simplifying to an absurd degree.

This puts the onus on you to actually defend your radical idea and not lash out defensively at every person who (rightly) thinks that you are hittin' the pipe!

Over time. Not one or two meals, not while dogsitting, not with teeny weeny puppies, not with the intention of getting into the middle of a dogfight. With big, driven dogs. Littermates, just to stick to the topic at hand.

    Excellent!

Gee, I wonder why the OP hasn't been back.....

I'm glad that this isn't a section that I have to be responsible for.  I can't believe some of the stuff going on in this thread.

Yes, Glenmar, and I think this is the most outrageous statement made.

"I just hope we don't read about the OP in the papers a few years from now. "
