Chuffy
Are you serious??? I can't work out if this is serious advice for the OP or some kind of wind up...
Nope dead serious. It works and works well. I had a friend whose puppy was biting her daughter. I had the friend put the puppy on its back until it quit fighting. Then her daughter straddled it and growled and stared until the puppy turn his head in submission. Nothing hurt the puppy but it never again tried to bite the kid. Kept the puppy in his home because they were close to sending it back to the breeder for the biting.
Are these extreme measures? Of course but what works, works and I consider a dog that bites to be very extreme.. especially when they are biting kids. Does is sound nuts? Yep but that's ok because at least I don't have to worry about my dogs biting people or attacking each other. I have very happy, well adjusted dogs that I can totally trust.
Also told the OP not to do it but find a professional trainer because there is a method that needs to be used. My dogs are dogs, not furry humans. They are treated like dogs and they are very well adjusted. Doesn't mean I don't love them, just means that I expect them to act in a good manner. If growling at them works then contrary to what others think.. I will continue to do it.
