Why does she attack the screen door?

Everytime we are visiting my mother (who lives upstairs) she will go beserck if anyone opens the screen door. She will bark at it and shove it with her paws and try to bite at it until it closes. Even when she is in her pen, if she hears the screen door open she will bark.   Why does she do this?
