I was running with Gandolf this morning, and we stopped to say hi to a neighbor husky down the street. Gandolf can be dog aggressive, so I had him sit about 4 feet away from the husky who had come up to the fence to say hello. I gave Gandolf a treat, then gave the husky a treat, and then gave Gandolf a treat for not reacting (i.e. no whining, not breaking the sit, not staring at the husky, basically being a nice calm, non-reactive dog!). I turn back to the husky to give him another treat, and I notice that Gandolf has gotten up, and started to pee in the direction of the husky, and nearly on my leg.
I told him no, had him sit again and then go to a down and stay there. Anyone think this was marking behavior? Or??? Was my reaction correct?
