puppy growls at people sometimes

• puppy growls at people sometimes jessica rosenfeld Posted : 4/26/2006 7:56:39 PM Hi,   I have a 4 1/2 month old rotti mix, who is a great dog for the most part. The only problem I am having with him is that at night when i take him out if he see's someone in the distance he will make a low picked bark and will sometimes growl.  I don't know if this is something i should be concerned about or if this is a normal thing for a puppy at that age to do, when someone is in the distance.  Any input would be greatly appricated.   Thanks     LIKE 1 REPLY 208 VIEWS LAST POST GLENMAR Like Share You have posted to a forum that requires a moderator to approve posts before they are publicly available. • glenmar Posted : 4/26/2006 8:15:30 PM You need to understand that vision is not the dogs primary sense.  He smells and hears something that he can't really SEE, and that can be a bit scarey.  What you dont' want to do is comfort him by saying "it's ok" or something similar, just matter of factly "eh eh" him and then maybe say, just someone else out for a walk....something really casual so as not to reinforce the growl...you don't want him to think you are afraid too. 0 LIKE Like Share You have posted to a forum that requires a moderator to approve posts before they are publicly available.
