All of you seem to be "dog people" who know how to stop a dog when the playing gets too rough.....how to be in control. Many people do not have that amount of control over their dogs and run into trouble with tug games. One of my dear friends has a large GSD and she used to play tug with him - he was all over her with his teeth and claws because she was not in control. We worked with "off, sit, drop" commands till he understood what to do.
Tug is fine if you are in control - but if you are not or little kids get into it with dogs it can get too rough and someone could get hurt. My 2 cents worth (grin)
