Yorkie Papillon going crazy when no one present!! help!!

i have a yorkie papillon 12 wks old named Sammy. Hes a good dog most of the time. But everytime I leave him or I put him behind a gate he starts to cry first. Then after crying he sounds very angry and starts to rip things apart. For example today I went to school (which i'm usually only gone for 5-7 hours of the day) and came back to my bathroom (which i keep him in) all messy. In the bathroom I limit him to water, a bed, toy rope, and a puppy training pad. There isn't anything else he can get his teeth on other than these things. But when I came back the puppy training pad was almost in a thousand pieces, the bed was like upside down in a spot i didn't previously place it, but the water and toy were fine. I feel as if my dog has an anger problem , but i also thought of how he might just be teething. But then again he seems to always get angry and does these kinds of things when i put him behind the gate in the bathroom and do something else. I'll be going to training classes with Sammy later on this week, which I hope may help me to become a better owner. So if anyone can give me advice on what to do, I'd really appreciate it.[:)]

He's 12 weeks old. He's not angry, or aggressive. He's bored and lonely! I'd give him a stuffed Kong and a treat ball. He just needs something to do.

Ah yes, small angry dog symdrome.  There's a great book by a lady who works with Papillions especially.  It's called Little Dogs: Training the Pint Sized Companion, by Deborah Wood.  Some people forget that little dogs are dogs too and have varying needs for interaction and training.   My Chinese crested lost her home because she was a pretty normal  dog, not a lap ornament.  The good news is that it is really easy to satisfy the needs of a little dog.  Zhi works for her breakfast kibble by kibble - that and a few turns around the backyard are plenty to keep her happy.  She is still mad when it's necessary to crate her but she accepts it eventually.

Ms. Wood's excellent book discusses crate training, which you probably need to look into seriously at this point.  She also offers a wonderful training course, step by step, to turning your small angry dog into a joy to have around!  [:D]

ok ok thanks for some info. But i have another question...  why crate train? whats so significant about it? I feel so bad if i had to crate train him because I wouldn't want to be put in a small little area. but if it gets the job done, i guess i have no other choice.

You're not a dog. Dogs LIKE small areas. It's like a den, to them. My dogs LOVE their crates.
