Worried about crate training and need some help

• Worried about crate training and need some help AlyssaBrandon122112 Posted : 7/20/2014 7:38:44 PM I have my first dog ever in my life and he is 12 week old papillon. I have had him for 4 weeks and haven't done any crate training but have really learned lately that I should. I just need to know really step by step how to do this. It kills me to hear him cry out, and I am unsure how to get him use to it (I have heard that they have no concept of time so if you leave them in for 5 minutes and step out, that even if they are still crying when you come back in to take them out, then I hear that you keep them in it till they stop. I feel that a more gradual approach mIght be better for me and my anxiety about it but i want to do what's best for him).
