We rescued a dog at the beginning of June. He was taught to fight because he came from a house with pit bulls and a bull dog that were mean to him. He's five years old. he had no shots and wasn't neutered so we did all that. At first he was afraid, but quickly settled in somewhat. BUT...
He had my other 2 dogs upset. He can be sweet as pie one minute and just "attack" the next. When we walk him and he sees people with dogs he goes crazy growling and flipping up and down. He has nipped at people and dogs. Obviously we keep him away, but if we see people walking when we are, he acts crazy. I've taken him to trainers who say all we can do is "try" I've done everything I've read and they've suggested, he just doesn't get along with other dogs.
He's bitten at both of mine, especially when they try to play, he doesn't understand playing. He doesn't interact with their playing, he watches then chimes in with a bite. So now my 2 are afraid to play and are stressed out. He needs a home with no other dogs I'm told or even kids. He's so cute and adorable but what do I do? The vet told me he can put him on anxiety medicine and see if that may work, but it will take a while to see if it does. He also said it's time I start thinking about my other 2 and possibly find a new home for this one. Easier said than done.
Any suggestions?
