4 months old keeps scratching and barking at her bed

I'm not sure why, but our puppy (that we've had for about a month now) keeps scratching and barking at/into her bed. When she's scratching the bed, it almost looks like she's digging for something, and she'll bark at it and bark into the bed. Does anyone know why? Thanks!

My 3yr JRT does this. Always has and probably always will. it doesn't bother me so I let it be. Plus it looks like she's having fun. Lol. What kind of puppy?

I guess my concern is that she just started this about a week ago, and we sprayed her bed down with some puppy odor remover (because she peed on her bed, so we wanted to get rid of the urine scent), since then was when we started noticing her doing that, so we didn't know whether or not it was due to her just playing or because she smells the odor remover and was agitated by it. And she is an English Bulldog :)

Ok that would be cute to see. Does she seem to be enjoying herself or annoyed by it? Try removing her bed and putting a blanket down in it's place for a few days and see what she does. Also do you notice any redness around her mouth and nose?

My girls do that on clean sheets and/or clean blankets. It also happens after a particularly good meal. It looks like they're in doggie nirvana at the time.

Jackson does it purely to bunch up the bedding into a pillow. He doesn't bark though, more like a low grumble.

Take a video of it next time and show us. Smile

It's called nesting. Dogs do it instinctively. I wouldnt reprimand her for it. All my dogs have done it. My husky was the worst

The vid with her barking looks like play barking to me.  :)

The vid of her scratching looked like she was playing too and maybe a bit of nesting.  Normal puppy behavior.  As others said, nesting behavior is normal.

Oh ok good :) just making sure it's not the odor remover that's irritating her. Her nose and mouth are pink but not red, it doesn't look like it's irritating her skin or anything. Thanks for all the help!

Our Rottie used to do the scratching thing but I would usually find some treat or a ball that he had earlier hidden...from who I dont know  but he was always hiding things in his bed or blanket.   Your puppy is adorable.

    She is too cute!!!

It's definitely play/nesting. I would toss another little blanket in there to give her more to play with. Smile
