She pees on all the beds!!!

I have a female Chihuahua the pees every where she sleeps!!!! She is never in a crate but we have tried that, limiting water, vet check, the whole shibang. We do have other dogs all are fixed. I thought dogs don't pee where they sleep???

It depends on where you go her from. If she came from a puppy mill (likely if you got her over the internet from an unknown breeder, most likely a broker, or if you got her from a pet store). Dogs that lived their lives in crates or cages learn to go where they live and sleep. Thats extremely hard to break. Chi's are also notoriously hard to house break. At this point, i would remove the beds, tie her to you on a leash and start house training 101. The dog goes outside to the same spot, on leash, 20 mins after it eats or drinks, right after a play session, right when it wakes up from a nap and every 2 hours in between. You also need to train the dog how to tell you that it needs to go out. To do this you can buy a really long string of jingle bells that reach down to her level when hanging from the door knob. Train the dog to "touch" (you can youtube this to find out how to do it) then have the dog touch the bell before you open the door.

The backup plan to this is to train it to use a litter box or pee pads, but I have never done that so can't give advice that would reliably work.

The bottom line is: restrict free roaming around the house, never let the dog out of your sight and repeatedly take it outside to the same spot until the dog gets it.

Are you sure she's not urinating WHILE she's sleeping? She may be incontinent.

How old is she? How long has this been happening? Has she always done this since you get her, or did it start happening later on? Has the vet checked and made sure there is no health issue related to this problem?

I have to ask, are you sure it's pee?? I know of a few small dogs that lick themselves or their bedding so much it seems like they peed.
