    Collars for walking issues

What kind of collars do you recommend for dogs who pull when your walking them? We are going to get one today and want to get the right one. I have heard about head halters? Not sure that is the right name.

     Thanks

I prefer the Easy Walk harness over a head halter.  My dogs hate head halters and I don't like to have to desensitize a dog to a tool.  The Easy Walk harness is more of a fit-and-go kind of tool, plus I find it easier to fit and use.

I like the Easy Walk as well, and my pug wears one ... but I also really like the Sporn.  My basset beagle is super long and low to the ground, and as a result it gives her more "power" than a dog twice her size.  A Sporn really works well on her but it can be a bit of a pain to figure out how to put it on the first time.  But worth it for us.

If it's simply for walking and pulling issues, and you don't need the head control for other things (reactivity, fear, aggression, overexcitability), then I definitely would go for an EasyWalk harness.  While the head halter gives the most control of all, it does sometimes take a few days to get the dog used to it, because it feels funny at first.
