• debbieStx Posted : 3/22/2011 4:42:15 PM      My sheep do show quite a bit of intellegence. They definetly recognize me and my dogs. They prefer alfalfa hay over their regular wheat hay, and will call to me if they see me moving an alfalfa bale.       The oldest ewe (12 years) followed my husband around for days last month after he brought her into the house and helped her delivier triplets. We were having sub zero temperatures at the time and he knew she wouldn't survive outside. She stayed in for about 24 hours, then outside in a dog run out of the wind for a couple days before being returned to the flock.
