It's Glenda. Actually, often with a fenced yard, the ability to run "wild" together can cause problems too. The normal procedure during the week is two at a time, simply because we are still learning the boundaries and still remembering that when the leads are dropped, Mom is still in charge. They're doing incredibly well with off lead, but I don't want to try to handle more than two at a time right now. Plus, two can play, three or more don't so much. They tend to get competitive and no one gets a good romp or play.
I can deal with just about any weather, but when I've got puddles standing in the yard, the dogs don't especially want their romp either, and I don't see much reason for all of us to get drenched! But, again, that isn't real fair to them since they do need to run.
I can imagine that the shepherd who doesn't get walked is really off the wall. Poor thing.
