Safety Collars

I don't like dogs without collars. People are notoriously lazy when it comes to returning a dog they think is a stray if they like the dog and want to believe that you didn't care for it properly. So, having a collar with a tag is important, even if your dog is home (what if there is a fire, someone leaves a door unlatched, etc.). Of course, you also don't want to leave a dog in a collar that a second dog can become entrapped by if they are playing, so...

Here's my choice for safety collars: it's call tazlab. When no leash is attached, it stretches, so the dog can get out of it if there is a mishap.

Interesting. Sim's got enough collars for now but I might look into that at some point. :)

Not ultra soft, but I just use these when I leave the dogs alone or if they are in an environment where they will be playing off lead outdoors. They wear their fancy stuff when we are out and about on lead.

I need to try one of these for Rex. Belle likes to haul him around by the collar and she's gotten his breakaway collar off several times. I leave collars on my dogs too when we aren't home. Better safe than sorry.

Two other options:

- KeepSafe collars from Premier (similar design but a releasing clip vs elastic)

- custom ordered collars from Etsy; I bought my crew cat collars (quick release clasps, 1/2" wide) in longer widths. This gives us very nice looking tag collars for cheap (about $6 each). All the dogs wear martingales on walks so I'm not worried about leash clipping.

Now that we have floor vents, I refuse to let the dogs wear regular collars while unattended, and I, too, am paranoid about leaving them without visible ID, so safety collars have been incredibly helpful!
