Olly Dog Backpack

I posted there about the pack I have my for my Baily really being too big. I got the Olly Dog today and took some pics.

The Ruff Wear is very nice, but Baily is kinda a weird size/shape. The small was very small and the medium is on the verge of being too big. The packs themselves are HUGE. Maybe if we were doing some multi-backpacking camping trip they would be appropriate..........

The Olly Dog is just right. The size is a small, but that means the packs are small. The harness part and straps are plenty long and adjustable enough for him (60 lbs). It's just the right size for city hikes. Poo bags (empty and full), my keys, maybe a lightweight extra leash.... I know nothing about sewing, but it seems well made and durable. Relfective stripes and two way zippers.

I actually bought one too but in a medium. I'll add my review to this thread when I get it tomorrow if you dont mind

Looking good Baily!!

I have the Ruffwear medium for Bugsy. He has the Ruffwear Webmaster harness in Large and if I got the backpack in large (the pack is based on the webmaster harness) it would have put the load too far down his back.

The medium however is slightly too narrow and I had to add a bunch of strap for the front.

I could go on but the important thing in looking at backpacks is that each fits very differently and you may have to try a few before finding the right one for your purposes and that also fit your dog well

Wow what a difference between the 2. And $20, you can't beat that!! I really like how that sits on him in the photos.

ok so how did you only pay $20? The free shipping code didn't work, so I used a 20% off coupon code. The total was about $28. Still not too bad. I'm hoping this will be really good for Abbie. Giver her a job to do...

I just entered the code Karen gave in the promo box. Maybe it expired ? I was actually surprised with it came to only $19.95.

He wore the pack on a walk yesterday and it didn't bother him at all. Hope she likes it !

First off, I love the color on him! his old bag is this burgundy ish color. I think the pack fits perfectly on him (a medium). The problem I had with my old one was that the strap material remaining from making it tighter were always dangling but the olly dog backpack has this elastic band sewed into the straps so it holds the "leftover" material. The old backpack we had also had 3 straps to attach it to him and the 3rd one was dangerously close to his hind legs so I was worried that he might be peeing on it occasionally. But this one only has 2 straps and the second one is right behind the front legs. Tyson seems comfortable i it and it stays pretty even sided even when he takes off running. The only complaint I have is that the packs dont have any interior compartments. I dont really like throwing everything in and having to dig around though. I'll probably just get some velcro and make my own compartments in the packs. I got the pack for about $23 with free shipping. I think the reason we got these so cheap was because last weekend they were doing a new shoppers discount and I'd never bought before from Sierra Trading Post. I also had the coupon code for free shipping.

Question on the Olly Packs- has anybody tried using one with a tracking style harness? I put Premier's SureFit harness on Caleb for hikes. I like the way that style harness works for hikes, tracking, etc. Anyway, I'm looking for a pack I can put over (or under) his harness (I want the leash attached to the Premier harness). Looking at the OIly Pack, it looks like I'd be able to do that.
