    Seperation anxiety

Hi Onikah (mom) and Dot(pup) here. Dot is a seven year dachshund retired breeder (i dont really want to get into her previous care because it makes me mad). This post may be long but i want you to be able to fully understand what I am dealing with so I can get the best support and advice.

When I got dot three months ago she would submissive roll over when i went near her (i shouldnt have said I would take her, but this is where we are now) She would run from my husband. A week later she was following me around the house. One night I left and she was home with hubby and stood at the door and carried on so long that she started to throw up and husband finally crated her until she calmed down. I came home and tried to feed her. She looked at me looked at food, hung her head and walked off. Didnt eat for three day. First trip to the vet. Vet cecked her over said to bribe her with soft food. after a total of 5 days she ate. 2 weeks later we came home to a note on the apartment door letting us know that our dog has been barking the entire time we are gone. So I put her in a crate. This works for a month until I come home to another note. So I read some online and put her in my bedroom where she has more room. Noise problem solved.

Meanwhile we have managed to house break her and I have suddenly comedown with a huge health problem have surgery and am taken out of the picture for two weeks. Dot is left with husband. house breaking has regressed. Dog is depressed, doesnt eat much. goes down to ten pound (really skinny) chews up my dirty clothes that she can find. I come back home. Dot becomes permantly attached to my hip. I stay off work for three weeks.this attachment is no issue as i am home at all times. I return to work and it becomes a problem. No barking has started up again but she will pee outside and the instant I leave she pees right in front of the door, she scratches at the door if i am just n the oter room and go back in the room she obsesses about me like ive been gone for hours. etc etc. SO now she has to wear a diaper when we are gone.

We have tried putting her back in a crate in the room she is comfortable in but she howls and carrys on for hours. if she doesnt she will pee in it and lay in it. Its the size kennel the dog trainer said she needed.

We wont get rid of Dot, but I have always been a believer in rescuing dogs not buying puppies, but right now i feel like paying 600 for a puppy would have been better?

we are discussing medication and behavior modification training
