Brad Pattison...At The End Of My Leash

Has anybody ever watched this show?  Just wanted to see what others think of this guy.  Personally I don't know a whole lot concerning training methods but I don't really agree with his.  I've only seen the one show and it showed him forcefully grabbing a dog and holding it down!  This was right after he tugged the leash really hard.  Is this right?  Doesn't sound like a good way to train a dog to me.

    Thanks

His show aired here but was called "In the Dog House".  I watched part of one episode and that was enough for me to conclude that it was a waste of my time.

I watch it occasionally. His show is based in the Toronto area so it's on a lot. It seems to me the gist of the show is not so focused on the 'dog' but rather the owners. The owners usually have different approaches and attitudes when it comes to their dog. The training exercises themselves are pretty basic as the dogs don't have major issues other than lack of/or conflicting owner expectations. He always includes a bit of relationship therapy in his shows as well. It's obvious that the 'problems' with the dog is having a negative impact on the relationship of the owner. I think it's pretty light and not really for anyone looking for dog training advice. I do love his Aussie though. Gorgeous!

His show is based out of Calgary.  There were some videos that shortly appeared in Youtube showing him needlessly jerking dogs, running them into trees and slapping them.  This was from the seminars that he runs during the summer.

I think he's a jerk to people and far too concerned about becoming "alpha" and he thinks that means using force and violence.

I can't watch it. I think he treats the people very very harshly, I can't stand to see somebody be so demeaning and rude. I would not associate with a person like that, and I can't stand to watch somebody like that on television. That is as far as I can get with it.

I know this is an old thread, but I found a copy of the video that shows him slapping and jerking a dog by the neck, then chastising the owner for forgetting a six foot leash.  There are several Facebook groups dedicated to getting him off Canadian TV - I believe he's on their Slice network.  At least one post on one of those sites asks that people petition Slice to get him off the air.  Another group has said he is threatening legal action for defamation of character.  Personally, I think the video speaks rather publicly to his character and people can draw whatever conclusions they want, just as Kim has done just on the basis of what she witnessed during the episode she watched.  I tend to agree with her assessment.  I never get the same vibes from people like Patricia McConnell or Pia Sylvani;-)  Anyway, for your viewing displeasure: http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=101582253210738
