My dog won't let me sleep!

My dog won't let me sleep!

My one year old lab/border collie mix won't let us sleep in the mornings.  I think it's partly because she's a creature of habit so she wants us up at 7:30am whether it's a workday or a weekend.  I think it's also because she can hear the neighbors upstairs get up and wants to play with their dogs.  Either way, it's annoying.  She sleeps on the bed with us and she will just moan and whine and kick us softly (or lick our hands and faces) until we get up. When she gets really bad my husband has put her outside the room and closed the door but then she just whines and moans and scratches at the door (she's never liked being seperated from us).
What do you think?  Should we just suck it up and get used to never sleeping in again on Saturdays?  Any other suggestions?

My older dog will sleep as long as I do, even if it means I don't get up until 11 or 12. Since getting my puppy, that's another story all together. I have given up the idea of sleeping in anymore until she is older at least. She gets up every morning between 6:30 and 7 now.

How long have you had her?  Usually when they get older they will sleep in with you.

Dakota is one year old (her birthday was March 24th) and we've had her since she was 7 weeks old.  However, we've only lived in this new place about 2months.

Chase will let me sleep until 7:00 on the weekends.  Then he starts yawning and stretching and sighing.  The trick is not to make eye contact.  Once I've made eye contact, the tail starts thumping, he starts rooing and growling, and he bounds over to the bed to lick my face.  Anyway, once I'm awake, I usually have to go to the bathroom anyway, so I get up and send him out for a pee, give him a bit of kibble so that he feels that he's had breakfast and we both go back to bed.  If I'm lucky, I can fall back asleep, and so long as he's had a pee and a few bites to eat, Chase is quite happy to sleep as long as I do.
