As others have said, females can coexist, but generally once they begin to fight, they're not usually to be trusted alone again. Someone on another forum recently had to rehome her dog due to fighting with her other female. I believe the dog went through two more homes (one being the breeder's) before being homed as a single dog, due to continued fighting.
I'd not risk having the two together again.
