I have attempted clicker training of those who i live with in the past, and it has turned out to be an Aversive outcome for the trainer (me). The last time i tried, it was suggested rather emphatically that i put the clicker where the sun don't shine.    I think you have to use more human friendly markers like "Well done", and more suck up versions of that depending on your relationship. I have found that partners need a LOT of prompting. Open dog catalogs around birthday times seem to do the trick, but you have to use a lot of targetting with heavy stress marks under the items that you would like.

I have no idea what Women would do to their male partners to get the desired behaviours. I was after more peaceful calmer behaviours around the removal of my company to go to dog trials. :)

Most humans catch on to the fact that they are being manipulated and don't like it. Maybe without the actual clicker you can get away with it.
