Max has pretty much outgrown the "chewing everything up" stage although he still has a thing for eraseable pens. But the dog I had before him absolutely never outgrew his love for socks and he was coming up on 16 when I lost him. I kept explaining to the boys that there are only three places socks should be - in the dirty clothes hamper, on someones feet or rolled up in the sock drawer. The dog can't open the laundry hamper, the dresser drawer or sneak the socks off someones feet. If they're anyplace else - like the floor - they're fair game.
