Well, that's a funny trick

All three of my younger dogs will spin or weave through my legs on command - it gets dicey when all three try at once LOL.  Sioux sneezes on command.  Sequoyah learned to "rubberneck" last night in a free shaping session (head moving down and then up kinda like a swan).

This isn't really that funny, but when Max comes down a set of stairs, either away from the gate that he tries to knock over, or into the basement, he grabs his leash. When he was upstairs he always had it on, and when he would come down away from the gate that he likes to knock over, he would always take his leash in his mouth, so I started telling him to get his leash and bring himself downstairs. Now he does it even though the leash isn't attached when we're going into the basement, and he seems a bit confused if he has no leash to bring himself down with. Of course, this is now a problem because he leaves them on the basement floor, and he hasn't yet figured out that he has to pick them up and bring them upstairs when we're heading out.

What type of dog is that waving?  I have one that looks like that but my daughter gave him to me from a dog pound.  He is so much fun.  I love the way he runs and leaps.  I have a problem with him opening the gate and the back door of the house.  I had to put a latch on the door because he will turn the knob and just come in sit on the couch and watch TV.

How funny that he is a basenji.  My son who lived in LA bought a basenji for me even though I had no idea what type of dog that was.  He took it to Kansas where he and his wife live.  One k\night before he could ship the dog to me his wife got tired of the barking and just let the dog out of the apartment in the middle of the night.  Well in the morning the dog was nowhere to be found.  My daught also lives in the same time in Kansas. About a year later my daughter's friend found this dog at the pound about to be put down because there was no owner and took the dog in.  My daughter's friend told her about the dog and my daught said "my mother will take any dog, she loves dogs"  So here he is how odd it is almost as if I was ment to have a basenji.  I will always wonder is this the puppy my son had.

Actually, if your daughter in law got tired of the barking, it wasn't a basenji.  (maybe mix?)  Basenjis are also known as the barkless dog.  Of course they do make other noises.  But unlatching gates is pretty normal basenji behavior.

Kayla would of course shake, but she would also high five.  I just held my hand high like I was going to give a high five and she would jump up and plant both front feet right there for a quick high five.  She would aslo give me kisses when I asked, actually she would give kisses to whatever you asked her to give them to.  Also when we were on the couch with no room for her she would sit on the ground looking for a spot and we would say "you can fit" and she would jump up and lay in the tiniest little spot, of course we then moved so she could get comfy but it was funny.
Oh yeah and "get that bug", she would chase a fly or something around until she caught it if you said that.
If we were in the yard I would sometimes say "go peepee" in a silly voice and she would wag her tail and squat down for a sec then jump up wagging her tail and prancing around like she thought that was so funny when we did that.

Cassidy doesn't do anything very special, but I've taught her some tricks.
 Shake - where she'll give me her paw, of course.
 Jump- I have her sit and hold a treat above my head, then I will wiat, for however long, and when I say Jump she jumps to get it.
 Roll Over
 Crawl ( she'll do the army crawl)
Which one - I hold a treat in one of my fists, and offer both closed hands to her, and say which one? she puts her paw on one and I open it; if she picked the right one she gets the treat, if its empty she picks the other one []
Catch - she'll catch any treat as well, and jump to get it if I tell her to
     My 4-month-old puppy I also taught to Speak, but Cassidy doesn't know this one.

Boss knows when I let him outside at night to walk a certain route to trigger the motion sensor on the garage. I tell him go turn the light on and he does.
 
I've also been working on pushing open doors(that aren't latched). He will run ahead of me and throw himself into the garage door and open it if  I have something in my hands.
 
He knows every room in the house. If I tell him I'm going to the basement he goes to the basement door. If I tell him I'm going to take a shower he bolts up the stairs and to the bathroom door. I've actually taught him the name of every room in the house.
 
He'll go get a drink on command. I just have to say go get a drink and he will. I had to when I first brought him home because he was so excited to be out of the closet the moron kept him in that he'd play so hard and never stop, panting like crazy, so I had to teach him to take drink breaks so he wouldn't pass out.
 
It's nothing I trained him to do, but when the phone rings he walks over by the counter it's sitting on and sits there until I get there to answer it.
