Need help with my dog

 Tootsie, my dog would eat grass all day long if I let her. As far as I know its not harmful.

Some dogs eat grass just because it jumps in their mouth! *smile* -- others eat it to settle their stomachs.  He's likely a bit nervous -- all the rules are different suddenly.  so ba patient with him.

And trust me -- you haven't even BEGUN --- cleaning up dog barf, poop, pee -- it comes with the territory!!  And over the next 15-18 years you will do a lot of it -- and at other times none. 

But beware -- real dog people can wax eloquent and talk for HOURS about color, consistency, size and shape of dog poop -- *rolling eyes* -- we can go on and on about it!! and nary an "ewwww" will you hear! LOL  Because it all changes with what you feed, how they feel, etc.

He's highly energetic

You meant he is EXTREMELY highly energetic, pitbull/terrier mix, talk about energy overload. Most likely your walks are doing nothing to him. You need to go the extra mile. Buy a backpack and walk him with it. Find a weight pulling club (pitbulls can beat Malamutes on that sometimes). Get a flirt pole and make him chase and jump as much as he needs. Get a bicycle. He has too much energy and there is no way you can keep up
