Rivers is 26"? Indifferent Most of the Tollers I've known (mostly through flyball) are around the same size as my BCs - ie, 19" average, no more than 22" or so.

Zhi: 10" and 8 pounds when not raiding the neighbor's dog's food bowl. Stick out tongue

Jetta (foster dog Border Collie/rat terrier? mix): 14.5 inches and 15 pounds (she's square!)

Maggie: 17" and 35 pounds (a bit on the pudgy side).

Ted: 18.5" and 36 pounds (definitely on the thin side still - he still has some filling out to do)

Gus:  19 inches and 45 pounds

Cord: 20.5 inches and 48 pounds

Lynn: 23 inches and 57 pounds (she is in perfect shape - her frame takes after the Golden side but she has the activity level of her Dutch Shepherd grandsire).

The late great Ben was almost 23 inches and when he was in top condition, weighed about 49 pounds. He was a really big Border Collie.

It looks like Sam is heading in that direction also. He's six months old, 17" tall, and weighs 35 pounds. Border Collie males mature very slowly so he'll gain another four inches (about 1.5" will be muscle) and another 30% in weight at least (again, a good bit of that is muscle and maturing joint structure) - but not until he's about three years old. His sire, paternal grandsire and grandsire on the other side are all huge. Lots of "big dog" genes in his pedigree.

We're not 100% on Rivers breed; per the records we found on him, he's part golden, part toller. However, he exceeds the height for both breeds; and his personality is more of a guardian type dog, not of a golden at all. But he is a very sweet dog, just likes to act very protective as well, and is a fanatic about water.

I'm not 100% believing though, that the golden part is in fact golden, Rivers has some type of collie in him, you can see it in the way he's built...my Dad believes him to be part coyote. He's truly does have this coyote appearance, specially when he's tired. Don't know how to explain it, maybe I can find a recent pic and post what I'm getting at.

He is tall and very linky-like

Logan - 2 yrs old (intact) Weimaraner male - 26" and weighs 79lbs  (the boy is densely boned and Mr. Muscle... not an ounce of fat located on him.)  I'm seeing all these dogs similarly sized and way lighter, I felt like I needed to explain Tongue Tied lol

Aryn 4.5 yrs old (intact) Weimaraner female - is 24" and weighs 58lbs.

Nik  4.5 yrs old (spayed) JRT mix  - is 10" and weighs 13lbs.

(edited to add breeds and ages, sorry I forgot last night :)

Sera J - no need to explain Logan's body type, I personally believe Rivers to be on the super thin side for his height, although his hip bones are now covered ever so slightly; but he seriously takes on the linky appearance of a coyote.

If you didn't know any better when he's in the back yard, day or night and you catch a climpse of him running or standing in a particular way, he makes you take a double take.

He's really thin boned with legs like toothpicks. His hair takes on a redder appearance in the summer sun, but he has the white stripe down his chest, 4 white paws, white tipped tail, with a bit of a black stripe. His hair is VERY thin, except around his thighs and his tail; his tail texture reminds you of a horses tail....again, no resemblence at all to a golden. His tail is VERY bushy and thick, and is generally up over his back, but can and does hang quite often similar to a wild looking dog of sorts.

I have to get a good pic of him.

Yes, you need pictures of him, he sounds like a beautiful boy!! :)

Even at 79lbs you can see Logan's hips... but, I don't think for his structure it's bad.  He looks very fit, and with his short coat you could see a pimple!  So, I don't put much stock in that.  I prefer a dog that is a scosh too lean to a scosh too heavy, so, I'm sure I'd appreciate Kauai's weight. :)

Lies, Nikon is a big boy -- hard to beleive that was your baby puppy!!  It happens so fast, doesn't it?
