Rivers is 26"? Most of the Tollers I've known (mostly through flyball) are around the same size as my BCs - ie, 19" average, no more than 22" or so.
Zhi: 10" and 8 pounds when not raiding the neighbor's dog's food bowl.
Jetta (foster dog Border Collie/rat terrier? mix): 14.5 inches and 15 pounds (she's square!)
Maggie: 17" and 35 pounds (a bit on the pudgy side).
Ted: 18.5" and 36 pounds (definitely on the thin side still - he still has some filling out to do)
Gus: 19 inches and 45 pounds
Cord: 20.5 inches and 48 pounds
Lynn: 23 inches and 57 pounds (she is in perfect shape - her frame takes after the Golden side but she has the activity level of her Dutch Shepherd grandsire).
The late great Ben was almost 23 inches and when he was in top condition, weighed about 49 pounds. He was a really big Border Collie.
It looks like Sam is heading in that direction also. He's six months old, 17" tall, and weighs 35 pounds. Border Collie males mature very slowly so he'll gain another four inches (about 1.5" will be muscle) and another 30% in weight at least (again, a good bit of that is muscle and maturing joint structure) - but not until he's about three years old. His sire, paternal grandsire and grandsire on the other side are all huge. Lots of "big dog" genes in his pedigree.
