Yeah, so chicken isn't great

Emma's allergy test showed no reaction to chicken. Now, I understand that there is more than one type of "allergic" reaction, and the test just tested IGg or whatever the stuff is. Anyhow, fed her chicken, she's chewing her butt off in the corner.

*sigh* It'd gone SO well, til this.

I know it's gonna be frustrating, but now you know. I'm sure Miss Emma still loved getting to eat her chicken tonight, even if she's itchy now. ;) You're doing everything right when it comes to the whole elimination diet thing!

She really did enjoy her chicken, LOL. You would have thought I was feeding her a steak! She was SOOOOO excited, the whole time it cooked and cooled.

poor girl! Just curious if you have tried duck with her - Bugsy has horrible allergies to chicken, turkey and egg - I've not tried duck but am a bit curious

Not even gonna risk it. She is also terribly allergic to quail, and I've seen her catch and swallow birds, and have reactions from that.

that's the same thought I have - he has had issues from his habit of catching birds and even just from eating feathers. I've had people tell me that duck is different but I can't see the point in trying - he gets hives and has breathing issues so it is high risk - I was just wondering if you had tried

Emma is the same way. Why make her miserable and risk another round of steroids? Prednisone makes her almost impossible to live with. There's so much, aside from poultry, that she CAN eat. She's doing great with fish and beef, and we're trying pork, next.

For a while Ben wouldl react to eggs but not any other poultry. Then he started reacting to chicken. Then after a long while, he started reacting to duck. Eventually he also reacted to turkey. Eggs would send him immediately to emergency care, do not pass "Go," etc. Every subsequent thing made him react a little less, but then I would "catch" it quicker. Except turkey was a big head smack moment. Stick out tongue But he never reacted really strongly to turkey.

It was kind of weird.

Either rice or stupid barley! I HATE BARLEY, with a passion, LOL.
