    Eating tons of grass...

Lily has been eating grass like it is going out of style. For about 3 weeks now. She has only thrown up twice within those 3 weeks. The first time it was all grass & the 2nd time was yesterday and she threw up her food. Now, I havn't changed her food. She's been eating the same thing for about 7 or 8 months now. Unless the company has changed an ingredient and I'm not aware that they have? She's eating Purina Lamb & Rice. I havn't started any new treats and it's not like she gets a treat every single day. No table scraps.

Eating grass is a sign of an upset stomach right? I have no idea what is going on. Maybe we'll have to take a trip to the vet...but what will the vet have to do to be able to tell me what is going on?

    Any ideas?

I don't know if that's always true.  Max likes to nibble on the grass in the back yard and he really loves to eat the new spring grass that grows around the wildlife pond we walk around sometimes.  He never seems to have an upset stomach.  Maybe they just like the taste of it and if they eat too much they throw it up because they don't digest it. Just like people who sometimes eat/drink something they know is going to make them feel lousy, but they like it so they do it anyway. Smile

Ted loves grass. He likes the long tender stuff that pops up when we haven't done the weed eating in a while Stick out tongue

Bevo & Shooter are both "grazers." Shooter nibbles. Bev gobbles

Bugsy loves the new sweet grass too - and has always gone out for a graze.  Some grass is like catnip for him the way he goes at it.  We say he is part goat

Phew, I feel much better knowing that it's not a stomach issue, just a love for grass! Lily goes for the tall grass too, nothing from the lawn. Our weed wacker isn't running so maybe my new nickname for Lily should be "weed eater." lol

I just got worried when none of the dogs I know around here eat grass. It's funny how she'll go from playing hard with the other dogs to stop and take a grass break.

Harry's a grazer, too.  Sammy does sometimes, but not nearly as much as Harry.  Every now and then he'll eat too much grass and throw it all up, but most of the time he's just fine.

I think if Lily isn't exhibiting any symptoms of having an upset tummy, then she's probably just munching on something tasty.
