    maple syrup in dog treats

I found this dog treat at Pet Co. today.  It's by Cloudstar.  Called Farmstand Sweet Potato Slices Dog Treats

    Ingredients:

sweet potatoes, potato flour, maple syrup,  sorbic acid, mixed tocopherols (natural preservative)

crude protein (min.) 4%, crude fat (min.) 0.5%, crude fat (max.) 5%, crude fiber (max.) 4%, moisture (max.) 25%

I want to know if it is okay to give a dog a treat with maple syrup in it?  Would you feed this treat to your dog?  Is the maple syrup too much sugar.  I didn't buy it yet, wanted to see what your opinions are first.

    Thanks,

    Michelle

I got the apple ones at Big Lots. The dogs LOVE them. Every dog I've  offered one to has scarfed it (and that's at least 10, with some of them being picky pickys).

It's a treat. Yeah, it's got some sugar in it. I drink Coke all day, so I'm not going to judge the dog for wanting something sweet, LOL.  In moderation, sugars are fine, especially natural sugars like apples and maple syrup.
