    Misc. Group, please explaine

Can somebody explaine to me the miscellanious (spll?) group for the AKC, I mean like how does it work. I am really interested in the Xoloitzcuintle but Tracy tells me they are in the miscellanious group and she doesn't know how they get the points and so on. I don't know if I make sence but I hope I do.

They have a write up about it at the AKC page. It's right HERE

Basically is it a stepping stone towards becoming AKC recog. The AKC must see some participation..and yes MONEY invested in it's events to show that people are going to show the breed, be active in some sort of activity with it...and that the breed is in serious hands before allowing it "in" to a regular group.

There are different requirements out there...but in short the more individual entries for your breed, across the country...the quicker you are going to get into a Group and the less time you will in Misc.

Leo's are there now...and since they are really out there showing it's not expected to be long before they are accepted into Working.

It's not about points or finishing because there is no such thing...you just show up and go thru the motions...up to and including Misc Group winners if enough breeds are present at that show.
