    Raw bones are ok right?

I just called my local Kroger and spoke to the guy in the meat dept and he said if I get there between 7-7:30 in the mornings they will give me the bones that they trim the meat off of. I hope it is ok because I think my boys would love it and I think I read somewhere that it is ok to give raw bones just not cooked ones so I thought I would ask you smart people on here.      Yes raw bones are good. I give my dogs frozen chicken leg quarters, frozen chicken fyers, and frozen pork neck bones. I think depending on the dog there might be some bones you wouldnt want to give. Depending on the dog though. I know I cant give Joker chicken wings because he is convinced most things can be swallowed whole.Indifferent

Raw bones are great. Bailey eats an all raw diet, and we've never had a problem with it. If you're getting the big beef marrow bones (those are the ones i get that they cut all the meat off of) just watch out if you have the type of dog that wont stop at anything to get all the marrow out. Those bones are pretty big and they can hurt their teeth if they get to "intense" with it.

Also, with big marrow bones and first timers, you may want to scoop out a bit of the marrow.  Its very rich and can cause some er....upset the first few times.  Mine are fine with it now, but the first time Crusher was in a  panic and ended up sleeping outside because he hates having accidents in the house.(Not that I love them eitherStick out tongue)  He just flat out refused to come in.

I've completely given up on beef marrow bones; I personally believe they are too hard on the teeth.

Rivers is eating chicken leg quarters without issue; and my 2 little guys have been eating chicken wings for 3 weeks now.

Tootsie, loves marrow bones! Even after the marrow is gone she'll chew it for a few days.
