holistic food = compact smaller poops?

Someone in the another forum I belong to post this one....  I thought it is a good thing to share because it is hilarious

Had to smile when I read the response to this question on the Canine Caviar website....

    Q. I heard my dog's feces will be smaller, more compact, and will smell less if I feed him holistic food. Is this true?
    A. Hard question to answer without more information from you, but we'll try. If you feed your dog the cheapest food out there, then chances are his feces are large, loose, and odorous. As you move up the chain of dog food, the chances increase that the volume and odor of the stools will decrease and they'll also be more firm and easier to clean. That being said, this is not to say that these benefits should be anywhere other than LAST on the list of reasons to switch a dog's food. Imagine if your parents fed you foods that caused you to have smaller and harder bowel movements. Sometimes we all must admit that having a bowel movement that is just nasty and evil smelling is quite enjoyable, relaxing, memorable and funny to discuss with your sister at Sunday dinner in front of your in-laws. Your pet feels the same way.

P.S. - - I am quite obsessed with my lab's poops...since I take him out twice a day for his pooping sessions and clean up after him immediately, I smell them all the time and they are still not great even on holistic food...lol.

FWIW...I had Rivers at the dog park yesterday, and he took a poop...obviously I went and picked it up, it still smelled just as nasty as it did when he was eating Innova puppy food and/or Orijen food, which is supposedly top of the line.

Well, he's been eating homecooked solidly for over 3mnths, his poops still smell nasty to me, but they are smaller, and not as rock hard as before.

Oddly enough a lot of the middle- to low-range foods will give you nice firm poops all the time because the manufacturers add ingredients to the food to artificially induce firmness. Incredibly large volumes of poop, but firm.

You got that right. We tried Iams a little while ago to save money and I didn't know so much poop could come out of a little dog!

I have seen some tiny dogs make HUGE piles of poop. I don't even know how they HOLD that much, sometimes. My dogs barely poop. A 12 lb dog on raw? It's like... the closest thing to not poop you can get, and still be healthy, LOL.
