    Evo went up $10!!!

I went to buy a 28lb bag of Evo red meat last night and it has gone up $10!!! It is not $59.99 vs $49.99 last time I purchased it. That's a huge price change. The white meat (chicken, turkey) formula has stayed the same. I wonder why there was such a change. I asked the person at the counter, but of course they don't know.

Have those of you who feed evo also had a price increase like this?

Wowza! I wonder if "red meat" has gone up or something...

We had that increase much earlier in the year -- the last bag of red meat I bought was $62 back in June or so.  There was a huge hike in EVO prices when I was working at the dog center this spring.  I wouldn't be surprised if it has gone up again, though.

I don't pay all that much attention to price when I buy (I just grab a bag of anything grain free and go) -- but I was pleasantly surprised that the 30 lb bag of Taste of the Wild was under $50.  Most of the foods I buy tend to run between $50 and $60.

Gas/fuel/energy prices were a huge reason for increases in the price of many products -- but I'm guessing we won't see product prices coming back down now that the gas costs have fallen so sharply.  The manufacturers are trying too hard to recover their previous losses.

Natura had an across-the-board price increase a few months ago, and very recently they've dropped the weight of the bags.  The large bags of Innova went from 33 pounds to 30, and the 16.5 pound bags dropped to 15.  I've heard they also dropped the weight of the bags of California Natural.  I don't know about Evo.

Evo reduced fat went up $9 here.I had already switched Jewel to Taste of the Wild pacific stream. It is almost $20 less and there's a few more pounds in the bag.

Livestock feed prices have held steady for a while now so it's not us (the farmers).  In fact we've been seeing some sales (20% reductions!).  They must be passing on some other costs at this point.

EVO still costs less per kcal than Taste of the wild though. Can't go by the price per pound, have to calculate price per meal.

Doesn't surprise me. The good kibble price increases were the reason we ultimately switched entirely to homecooking, I'm not preaching it, but, we were spending nearly $150+ monthly on Orijen for a 53# energetic puppy and a few cases of Nature's Variety canned food for my 2 little dogs.

There's times I wouldn't mind putting Rivers back on Orijen for traveling purposes in the summer, of which I might, but even their prices have gone up.

EVO small bites has been selling for $59.99 near me for a long time... about a year now and the Red Meat formula has been about $68.  Luckily I found a local vet that sells it for $47 a bag and $44 for the low-fat formula. I wish they carried the Red Meat formula .

I know this is an old thread, but I just went to buy a new bag of EVO Red Meat today, and the 28lb bag was....... $79.99!!

Ouch. My wallet can't take that kind of hit.

Strangely, ALL formulas of Orijen were cheaper than that.

    I'm officially an Orijen feeder.

It's now a distant memory, the time when Evo first came out and it was actually almost as cheap to feed my LGDs Evo (only one formula at the time, would now be regular small bites), as it was to feed them something like Diamond Extreme Athlete.  They've definitely put themselves out of that price range.

It's like they are figuring that anyone still putting up with these price increases must be really committed, and are seeing how many increases the product's consumer base will tolerate.

I get random bags of EVO for free from a friend (after he's done complaining about the price Lol). I don't feed it regularly anymore due to the price and allergies. Now I feed TOTW pacific based and it's 64$ after taxes for 30lbs bag.
