Honor Got Her 1st Rally Title!!!!!

WOOHOO!

Today, Honor got her last two qualifying legs needed to obtain her APDT Rally Novice title! Honor was amazing at this trial, was SO much more focused than our first one, and she was amazing! And to top it all off, her score got her 4th place on the first run, and 3rd place on her second run! YAY!!!!!!

I'm SO proud of her. I never thought a Klee Kai would enjoy Rally, and Honor's really shown that this is something the breed can do. When we started Rally, I was hoping to one day be able to see her try her 'paw' at a trial. And now she has a title and two placements! I feel so blessed to have Honor, she's such a good dog! Big Smile

Congratulations!!! Those are some very fancy ribbons, Miss Honor!

Weird breeds are too much fun not to compete with. I'm really looking forward to beating the pants off of some Border Collies, with Ena (no offence to those great Border Collies, but nobody expects a weird breed to do great).

It was definitely a challenge! Training Honor in Rally took a ton of creativity and a willingness to find whatever reinforcers I could to appeal to her "And for me?" attitude. But the challenge of it made it all the more sweeter when our qualifying score on that last run on Sunday.

And I can write it here, on iDog, where I know no one will make fun of me for it...I definitely cried a little when I realized she had her title. The whole experience has taken an even bigger turn, when I found out today that Honor is the first AKK in history to have a Rally title. What a feeling! It's so exciting. And Honor's having a great time, lapping up all the attention from family and friends. Smile
