I know there have been several threads recently, and I have followed them with interest ;), but now I have a few questions of my own that I would like to ask.
First...I'm probably just slow or missing something, but I have to ask this anyway. I have already figured out my dog's daily requirements based on her weight and the 2006 NRC numbers, and I have a beautiful spreadsheet made up. But before I go on, I need to know this: If I need to feed my particular dog fewer calories (based on her age and activity level) than a typical dog her weight, does this affect her daily requirements of vitamins/minerals?
My second question is, for those who homecook, how many different recipes do you use per dog? If you use more than one, how do you prefer to do it (i.e. alternate every other day, feed one recipe per week, then change the next week, etc.) And do you try to keep the protein and fat content similar for each so there are no big changes? I just want to start gathering some ideas of what others do...
Thanks in advance! I think I am starting to kinda sorta figure out the Nutrition Data website, so hopefully I will be able to make the big switch...sometime soonish. As long as I do it right, I have no doubt that Gypsy will benefit from the change.
