    food for urinary/kidney problems?

As some of you know, Wyatt has had some problems with UTIs lately. He had a kidney panel, and his creatinine was high normal but BUN was normal. I'm a little paranoid since my last ridgeback had some renal problems. Anyway, kind of for prophylactic reasoning...what would be a good food for dogs that have urinary and renal problems? I assume a high protein dog food wouldn't be good...but he has been eating healthwise chicken and oatmeal, and his first UTI occured a few weeks after starting healthwise. I'm not sure if there's a connection, but ya never know...

The vet can do an in depth analysis to determine which food your dog should eat. My sister is going through this right now with her corgi who gets frequent UTI's. She is now feeding SD (something, can't remember which prescription), half dry, half canned with warm water mixed in all that.

The Royal Canin Urinary SO food is really good for dogs with urinary issues. It's not the greatest food - when compared to top foods, but it's not bad either.... esp. if it'll keep him infection free.
