    Too much bone.

Does it come out dry and chalky?  or does it turn dry and chalky.  The former means too much bone.  The latter is the right amount of bone if it takes a few hours to turn.

I have had it where my dogs pooped dust bombs that exploded into dust when they hit the ground.  That is too much bone.

It comes out dry & chalky. They've always had lots of bones available to them on a regular basis. This is just happening in the last week or so.....I'm trying to figure out if it's a new type of bone that I gave them that is causing this???? I thought maybe they weren't getting enough calcium or something, but I give them a multi-vite and they eat a great diet. Is this something to be concerned about???

I think you may want to try and cut out some calcium from somewhere.  If there is calcium in the multivite, can you find one without?  If they are consuming the bones, as in RMB's find some with more meat.  It doesn't have to be much, but even just throw in some extra meat like ground beef.  Too much calcium over a long period of time can cause problems yes.

On another note, my dogs can get like that if they eat chicken necks and backs for a couple of days without added meat.  There is more bone to meat ratio and it doesn't take long to show up in stools.  Legs, thighs, even wings have a better ratio.  Breasts have too much meat.  But for some reason I thought you didn't feed chicken....?  I'm rambling now....trying to decide if I'm in labor or not...ignore me.  LOL  good luck!

They get chicken livers, which they love, it's their favorite. They get RMB's and eat the marrow, but this is only recreational. Overall, they have quite a bit of meat in their diet, whether it be the chicken livers, steak........ I wonder if it was the dried chicken feet that I got at the holistic store. They LOVED those and the clerk said the feet are good for them. Could that have caused it?

Its possible.  Has it cleared up yet?

Yep, all better. It only lasted a couple of days. :)
