    K-9 Kraving raw, $1.90 a lbs.

http://www.k-9kraving.com/ Their Beef and chicken formula looks very good. What does everyone think?

That's a great price. I pay... *cough*.... more for Bravo, LOL.

I don't love vitamin premixes. That's one of the reasons I feed raw. I prefer to add my own supplements. I don't love the flax seed, either, since my dogs are sensitive dogs. That's simply preference, though. My one dog is allergic to air, and the other is a super sensitive breed.

I'd feed my dogs premade if I could get it for that!  Somehow, I doubt I could.  We go through....lets see....about 20ish pounds a week all inclusive so I would imagine just the shipping would be astronomical....sigh.

ETA: upon looking, it turns out those formulas include veggies so our poundage would go up even farther...sometimes I wish I had little dogs.

I think the price is misleading- they recommend feeding what, 5% of the dogs body weight? suggesting the food will cost you more than you expect to feed on a per-pound price. Most pre-made raws (at around $3 a pound) suggest to feed only 2% of the dogs body weight. So if you have a 50 pound dog it'll cost you $33.25 to feed K9 craving for a week vs. $21 for the apparently more expensive pre-made raw.

Plus it's not really what one thinks of as a traditional  "raw" diet- it has meats, some liver, then they substitute synthetic vitamins and minerals for the lack of other organ meats and bone. Plus it has sweet potatoes.

Well after a little more consideration, I've decided to go with prey model. I figure if I'm going for the best food available, I might as well go fresh. The premade just didn't look all that great compared to the fresh chicken I just picked for him. Stick out tongue
