Ultimate Air Dog get "close" (I use the term loosely) they have events in NY and NJ. I see Dock Dogs in NY and PA. I know those are not "too" close but that is the best I see. Sorry! It is so much fun I am SURE you Lab would love it.

I normally compete with UAD, if you ever get the chance to make a road trip to one of their events I highly recommend it, they are a great group of people. I am not saying anything bad about Dock Dogs I have had fun at their events too (and Splash Dogs!) I just find a strong family feeling and people extremely willing to help you with your dogs at UAD. UAD is MI based and we have a lot of their events in our area.

I would LOVE to go to an event. I know Apollo would LOVE it...he literally dock dives all the time, we're surounded by the beach and bay and the bay has a bunch of docks, if you toss a tennis ball off, WOW he's gone...he's been getting some awesome distance latey. The dock is about 2-3 ft off the water. Actually, NY (depends what part) wouldn't be too bad. Jeremy has famly is upstate NY and we go a couple time a year.

I know UAD was in Long Island earlier this month (www.ultimateairdogs.net) Check out their website (go to events), I believe they have another coming up but it too may be close to the City. I believe they have had past events in MA. We (UAD) have a friend who lives out your way and we have come before. (They have a forum board too)

The competition dock is 2 feet off the water so that is good he jumps from height. Sometimes the pool backs off a dog if they are used to jumping in natural water but "usually" they get used to it. I say usually because my lab will jump 25' off our dock up north but will not get into a competition pool hardly at all. We could hardly get her off the ramp to cool off a week ago. Silly girl!

Since I have one dog that does agility and one that dock jumps I love combo events but neither would qualify for something like the AFLAC Outdoor games. However a girl can dream!
