I Need Some "No Salt" Help

OK, so BF is on very strict no salt diet.  I am time challenged, and most of the no salt recipes take lots of ingredients and time to prepare from scratch.  Does anyone have some recipes for crock pots, or simple dishes that don't require a lot of prep or time?  I just need nutritious and no salt.  He isn't picky about food, but we look at labels and gasp!  I haven't got time for too much scratch cooking.  Help!!!!!

I just thought I would add a comment.  I very rarely add salt to food that I cook.  Hubby does but I don't.  Instead I use salt free greek seasoning a lot and if I want to really add some flavor I have been known to use lemon juice or lime juice on things that I might otherwise want a lot of salt on.  Usually pasta dishes with light sauces on them or soups or anything else that I may have cooked with lemon already like a piece of salmon or even chicken.  I think the key is to get a lot of flavor otherwise.  Just thought I would add my go to for flavor instead of salt.  Good luck.  That limits your intake on a lot of things.  I know you can get a few of the different seasonings they have our there with no salt.

Mrs. Dash puts out a whole line of really great seasonings, all totally salt free. I know what you mean though ... I don't do much from scratch either and all those helpful little sauces and mixes are loaded with salt. Campbells puts out (I think) a mushroom soup that's sodium free that makes a good sauce base and I've seen tomato sauce and canned tomatoes without salt, too.

split peas cooked in a crock pot -- add a bit of chopped garlic (I buy it in the jars already chopped) and Mrs. Dash and you've got an awesome soup.  My *favorite* way is then to add loose ground beef and cook it at the end -- no, I don't like ham in split pea soup, I prefer ground beef.  You can also add carrot (and I buy them already shaved -- again, mega time saver).

Chicken soup is another of my favorites -- I buy boneless chicken thighs, and saute -- use those for supper, and then retain the pan 'gravy' and leftover chicken and add water.  Again some chopped carrots and maybe onion and noodles at the last minute (and you can get no salt noodles).  When I originally cook the chicken sometimes I marinate in lemon juice and pepper (lemon/pepper chicken) and it makes awesome soup.

Hummous might be a welcome change -- there are zillions of recipes for it -- it takes it's flavor from a bit of tahinhi and sesame oil and garlic.

Here is a web site that you could look at. You can sign up for their news letter. Go to the recipe archive and you maybe can find some good ones. They have some crock pot recipes. Hope this helps ya. I wish the very best for you and your BF.
