There is a book (and a website) called See Spot Live Longer that I just stumbled to (www.seespotlivelonger.com). It has excellent section about nutrition (under canine health) for folks who are new to dog nutrition stuff. The reading is simple and not too overwhelming for beginners. It basically talks about nutrition that folks who have been here for awhile talk about and been practicing.
P.S. I read that 1 lb of chicken yields 0.3 lb of chicken meal....wow, that is very little. I know to look for chicken meal but I didn't realize that the conversion is 1 to 0.3.
