but WHEN did so many foodmakers start short changing people that extra 5lbs to make an even 40lbs bag? I mean they are all now 35lbs...37.5lbs...WHAT?

I am not a foodie so I might've missed something profound as to why this is...but anyone have any thoughts? I LIKE 40lbs bags...they are a perfect LARGE size that I feel good spending decent money on. 35lbs? That smacks of "charge the same price but give less (a la ice cream "half gallons' which aren't anymore)

Yes this is spawned from me now having a HUGE dog to feed LOL.

Wait, Leo puppy? HOW big exactly? Lynn is about 25 pounds - but she's really underweight. Just today she started looking like an actual puppy and not a short-legged adolescent chow/golden/thing. She's also gained about an inch or so in height just in the last week. Surprise

Are you talking about the same brands of food? I fed Cal Natural when they first came out with it and it's always been the same size bag. I compare prices every so often for old times' sake.

I know you are talking about convenience, but I also look at how many calories are in that bag. I can tote home a fifty pound bag of Big Red Nuggets but it's only about half the cals as a 33 pound bag of EVO

Her name is Cleo...she is 4 months old and 45lbs. She came to live with us Wed......if you'd like pics there are some over in photos. I saw your girl..very cute! and yes...very petite!

I always went to the caase and got my usual brand of bacon. But i started to notice it didn't seem to go as far. Then I waw that even tho it was the sme size box, it wa 12 ounces instead of apound. had always been a pound. Same with the l b box of Whiteman Sampler's a year ago Christmas. The pouhd box was actually 12 ounces. Same box, just more "room" inside. also was the same price. I hvae noticed some 16 oz canned goods is now 14 ounces, etc. So it isn't just dog food.
