Skin allergies decreased with homemade diet?

This is an interesting study that suggests that looks at risk factors for developing skin allergies in certain dogs.  The only thing that seemed to be assoiciated with LESS allergies was being the child of a bitch that was fed a homecooked/non-standard diet.  As this says it needs further work, but I thought it was interesting.

That is fascinating!  ... Wow!  Cool find, Kelly.

Speaking of unfounded but interesting observations Logans breeder fed his mom prior to breeding and during pregnancy a diet high in "brain food" (omega 3's) and she said that this litter was exceptional.  Could be a coincidence with a great combo between sire and dam but, she said she normally has a lot fewer pups in a litter (his was 10) and this litter was quieter, and much faster learners.  She said the difference was quite obvious. The bitch was also fed a raw diet... and so far so good! :)

However the omegas is pure speculation, but I'd love to see a study on that as well.

    Way cool!
