• Marrow bones ....getting to select the pieces at $0.59 lb NikoAwesomo Posted : 12/8/2007 11:45:36 AM I can't believe my own eyes when I went to a large market catering toward the local asian communities in Chandler, AZ.  I don't go there too often because it is about 25 miles one way.  But....... they sell soup bones (long marrow bones with the knuckles still attached) and they are not cut up until you select the bones you want.  Wow... I could not believe it.   I picked about 3 long marrow bones and have the butcher cut them up to the size per my specification.  Wow.... There's a little neighborhood grocery half a mile away that really wants to stay in business. The butcher does cut my bones as requested but I pay about twice that price, which is the same or less than the pre-cut bones at the big stores (if they are available).  He also orders in kidney, green tripe, bison liver and chuck roasts, organic ground turkey etc. and keeps it frozen so I don't have to buy large quantities.
