Cheapo agility flooring for basement?

    Cheapo agility flooring for basement?

Think of this as poor mans agility flooring. If you were strapped for cash (as most of us are) what would you throw together for practicing in your basement during the winter? Besides regular carpet. I'm thinking some type of padding with a rubber mat over it? Something like that? I'm open to ideas!

I've got some cheap rubber mats (sold for home exercise areas) underneath some regular old shag carpet in a truly hideous color (came with house) we were throwing out. Couldn't figure out how to fasten the mats down on the concrete basement floor, but the carpet plus lots of duct tape holds them firmly in place.

There is a company that sells rubber trac floor matts for $1.70 sq ft.  I don't know if that would fit in the budget or not.  A 4 ft by 10 ft piece would be about $80.  You could cut it down and put it on the landing side of jumps, or leave it long for weaves...  I'm considering buying a piece that size for a 6 pole set of weaves for the winter.

    I don't know if it's cheap, but...
