    Wysong-new grain free

I have never been a huge fan of Wysong, but I see they have a new grain free food. If it seems good, I might try it, I can buy it from the store down my street. It is called Optimal Performance.

I don't think the Oprimal Performance is grain free----I'm pretty sure it has rice.  It is, however a higher protein food.  Wysong does have a grain free option-----Archetype---a cold processed raw food----I have used it for supplemental feeding (Kong fillers, meal toppers) and I also will use for travelling, on occasion.

You might be right. They make it sound like grain free-

Optimal Performance™ is the fusion of our TNT™ technology with an enhanced dried kibble. This is the first pet food diet to offer the benefits of raw feeding and superior base kibble in one package.

Optimal Performance™ has minimum 40% protein, 18% fat, and contains fresh, free-range, organic, dried, and raw meats. And, as is the case with all Wysong base diets and TNT™ processed foods, Optimal Performance™ is complete with vitamins, minerals, probiotics, prebiotics, enzymes, antioxidants, and nutraceuticals.

I couldn't open the file for the ingredient list, so really have no idea what is even in the food.

I pulled up the ingredient information- the print is TINY and on a bright yellow background. :/ I could barely read it, but I was able to make out poultry meal and poultry fat. It's not a food that I would feed. It also has rice as the 4th or 5th ingredient.

Well, if thats it,  I've seen worse.  But I don't like the poultry meal.  Its too vague.  And isn't rice a grain?  and Oats?  Maybe not.  I dunno.

Oh well, scratch this food off my list. I never cared much for the ingredients of their other foods, this one sounded better than it is.

Does Anyone else have a problem that the Best Used  BY date is in code and you have to then go to their site to figure it out? If you can read it at all because it's stamped into the seal.

I do use their Archetype . It's freeze dried raw. I give to the dog and cat as treats. And the Health letter from them is a good read.
