    Menu Foods recall expands

From Sooner's link posted above:  Menu Foods is now expanding the recall to include cuts and gravy and select other products which do not include ChemNutra wheat gluten but which were manufactured at any of Menu Foods' plants during the period that ChemNutra wheat gluten was used at that plant, to the extent they have not already been subject to a recall, due to the possibility of cross-contamination. Menu Foods has received a report from a customer and has received study results, both of which indicate cross-contamination.

This is about to get a WHOLE LOT worse.

Cross contamination?  ... whew.  I'm staying away from anything made by Menu, PERIOD.

Was it American Nutrition that used the contaminated rice glutten/protein for Royal Canin and Natural Balance?  Or was it Diamond?  If cross contamination has become a concern I really don't want to feed anything remotely connected to these companies.

(Edited to fix my "quote" box-thingy.)

This is about to get a WHOLE LOT worse.

Im sitting here thinking to myself how much worse can it get??? When is this all going to stop?? It truly is UNBELIEVABLE...

I took all my canned food back to Petco lastnight... AND how much you want to be they probably just stuck it right back on the shelf. You ask me why I think this...

Cause I have a "Pals" card that shows when I purchased it cause I didn't have a reciept and Im sure if the date works for them as in being pretty currant they will put it right out with the rest of the canned NB...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr[:@]

    ITS NUTS....

AND how much you want to be they

Oops that was how much you want to bet :)..... I get very emotional over this subject.... fingers are flying and IM not previewing my post...[;)]

I am not sure if Menu posted an incomplete list or "updated the updated list" or what, but there are quite a few missing from the locked list.

    contains specifically the new brands
    • Gold Top Dog
It is incomplete it has expanded.. I will go look see if I can get it..

Ok I think I found it...it's all so confusing now..

UPDATE: The expansion expands again. Menu Foods#%92 own press releases do NOT match up with their recall expansion list. [linkhttp://petfoodtracker.blogspot.com/]Pet Food Tracker[/link] and [linkhttp://www.petsitusa.com/]PetSitUSA[/link] have worked the last several hours checking the lists and added several more brands to the recall expansion. Our recall list is now updated. Again.

Thanks for posting this Kelly. I *think* the new recall is cuts and gravy style foods; is that correct?

This recall list seems to be the most complete, with old and new, all manufacturers, and is frequently updated:http://www.itchmo.com/recalls.html

I'm not sure. I know some foods that don't contain wheat gluten were recalled because they followed foods that did in the production runs. At this point, since they are acknowledging cross-contamination, I'm avoiding all Menu products. Sad, because I think some brands are still trustworthy. Too bad their manufacturer isn't.
    • Gold Top Dog
    I'm avoiding all Menu products.

Me too..I am so tired of this crap...Thanks for posting Kelly and keeping us updated..I was just saying to my husband tonight...we haven't had any recalls in a couple days..maybe this is the end..and.I come home to this..[:@]
    • Gold Top Dog
The problem is, I haven't seen where the cans say "manufactured by Menu Foods".......I was at a SavALot on a sales call yesterday and the owner was talking about the recall on the pet foods and how much product he's lost.  He had some in his office that had been returned by customers and I CAREFULLY read the can....no mention of Menu so how the heck do folks know what cans to avoid??

On another note, folks, I've got very slow dial up and it won't always open the links that are posted, so if someone wants to send me a LIST of the recalled products I can get them into our master list.  Kelly, it's great that you are so on top of this recall and if you can do that, or even send it to Kelly (PC) one of us can be sure that the list is updated.  Whoever has the time to do this, I'd consider it a personal favor.  Thanks.
    • Gold Top Dog
I need help with printing out the list..........................  The easiest list to look at is the Itchmo site, but when I go to print, it won't print the list of foods on the left side, but it will print the headings and other information in the middle and on the right.    I want to take this to work to post since the last list I took was confusing to read.

AND, a big, huge thanks to Kelly and all the others keeping us informed and updated.  I, and many others, truly do appreciate the time taken to keep up with this stuff and let us know!

So, Glenda, I can't send you a list, if I can't get one myself!

I thought the cuts and gravy style foods were made at a different plant than the other canned foods like EVO and California Natural; does anyone have a link for that info; I couldn't find one.
