    Anne,

Do you usually drain your salmon for these treats, or just dump everything in?

I made a double batch, and drained the salmon. It came out a little dry and crumbly! I guess that I should have added an extra egg or something. The dogs don't seem to mind though........... Marley has not left my side all evening!

I throw everything in! When I make the variations, tuna or liver, I also use everything.

I just saw this recipe - I'm going to try it this weekend.  Shari loves fish!  My cats will probably like these, too.  The love the liver treats as much as the dog does!

Oh I just saw these gonna have to give them a try.

Sounds good and a bit similar to this recipe I have :

    SALMON BLONDIES

14 oz can of pink salmon
    1/2 C cottage cheese
    1/2 C shredded cheddar
1 1/2 C Garbanzo bean flour or rice flour or any other non-grain flour

Process salmon in blender or food processor, add cottage cheese, mix well. Add flour and cheese.  Spread dough in greased pan and press flat. Bake 30-40 min. Cut into squares.

    Rice is a grain.

But those blondies are great. My dogs will do anything for them. I can't stand cooking them, but they LOVE LOVE LOVE them.

I made them!!!!  Cooper says THANK YOU Anne!

I'm making them as we/I speak - Caesar's going to love them, I am sure!

One question - I suppose I should be storing these in the fridge? I made two batches (had a 16 oz can of salmon) and one batch I am going to freeze. The other batch just keep in the fridge, or will they be ok in the cupboard once they dry out?

    I just finished making them...
you didn't warn us that the house was gonna smell like salmon ewww :) im gonna be in trouble when DF gets home!!
Anyhow, the dogs sat with rapt attention as I mixed these and baked them.
    They love them! Thanks!
Mind if post this on another board I frequent?

A side note... the dough seemed exceptionally dry (I had to double the recipe because I had one of those big cans of salmon) so i added a half cup of water. That did the trick beautifully and they are semi-moist now while still warm. they probably would have been totally dry lke a traditional doggie cookie had I followed your recipe :)

i too wondered how to store these... fridge/freezr maybe? i heesitate to leave them out because of the salmon.

When I make dog cookies, I usually leave out what I'm going to use for the next couple of days, and freeze the rest.

I freeze them to store them.
And, yes, go ahead and post them anywhere you like.  [:)]

I just made this with tuna and extra flour instead of cornmeal ('cause I didn't have corn meal or salmon). Yummmmm. [:D] Roscoe and Scout are trying to be my "best friend forever" to get some. :)
