Searching for Good Training Treat Recipes

Does anyone have a good training treat recipe?  I'm looking for treats that don't crumble too bad, are soft so that the dog can chew and swallow quickly, don't take hours to bake, and don't cost too much to make.

I do liver treats.  I use chicken liver cuz it doesn't smell as bad and I make MEGA batches and freeze......here's the recipe for a single batch.

Puree 1 lb of chicken liver along with 2-3 cloves garlic in the food processor, pour into 2 cups whole wheat flour and mix well.  then you kind of glop it onto a foil lined baking sheet, spread to an even consistency and bake at 325 for 20 minutes for soft treats, 25 for crunchier treats. When they are cool, put the foil from the baking sheet, cut with a pizza cutter to tiny sizes and return to the sheet to freeze.....bag them up when they are frozen.   Open the windows and turn on the exhaust fan FIRST.

I made up practically the same thing. My girl is very intelligent~and 6 years old. I could never get her to "stay", but I made these a few nights ago, and I can now walk almost half a block away, and disappear out of her site, and she'll stay, because she knows she is getting one if she does it.

Thanks for the recipe Glenda!  I made those up last night for my beagle, Carley's introduction to a bit of agility equipment which arrived today.  Boy I have never seen her get that excited over treats before and she absolutely loves any type of treat.  I'm thinking these dogs would stand on their tails for these treats, if only that were possible.

    Thanks again!  [;)]

Not a problem.  Someone posted this on idog when I was new here and never came back to claim it, so I just continue to share it.  My crew LOVES these.
